In 2016, HRF expanded its efforts to promote freedom around the world, with a focus on increasing the tools and resources available to activists in closed societies. With Flash Drives for Freedom, our campaign to send USBs loaded with news and entertainment into North Korea, we continued to disrupt the Kim regime's monopoly on information. Meanwhile, Your Human Rights, our guide series that creates and distributes accessible guides to fundamental human rights, expanded to include Angola, Azerbaijan, Burma, Iran, Gabon, Uganda, Vietnam, and Swaziland. HRF also hosted its largest-ever Oslo Freedom Forum, its annual gathering in Oslo, Norway that brings together activists and innovators from all industries to find ways to advance human rights worldwide. HRF held Oslo Freedom Forums in San Francisco and Guatemala as well, to extend the unique experience of the event to new audiences around the world.
